If you’re stuck for something to do this bonfire night we’ve hunted out the best events in Leeds for you to choose from!

Living in Leeds on bonfire night is always exciting due to the range of fantastic events that take place. Since the 5th falls on a Sunday this year, the bigger park celebrations will take place a few nights before on Friday the 3rd to make sure as many people as possible can make it, so we have created this guide to help assist you in your celebration decisions.

Woodhouse Moor:

Next to Hyde Park and a short bus journey or walk from Headingley/Burley, Woodhouse Moor firework display is the perfect spot for students to celebrate. This year, the display is on Friday the 3rd at 7pm, so why not take advantage of the surrounding pubs with your friends beforehand? There are plenty to choose from such as the popular Hyde Park pub, LS6 cafe, and The Library. After the wonderful display, there is also the opportunity for you to attend the funfair across the road! This is guaranteed to be a great evening.

Roundhay Park:

Roundhay Park is another hugely popular firework display in Leeds, with an estimate of 70,000 attendees. At this large display there is also a funfair, food vendors and music therefore it is guaranteed to be entertaining! This is also a beneficial display for students as it is a short bus journey away from the popular student areas. There are also great restaurants and bars within Roundhay that you can attend before or after, it would be rude not to! This display is also on the 3rd and starts at 7.30pm, so be sure to get there early!

East End Park:

A 20 minute walk from the city centre, East End Park bonfire is perfect if you are a student wanting to go into the city after the display. This bonfire will be burning at 7pm on the 3rd with the fire work display starting shortly after.

If you are unable to attend any displays on the Friday, there is still an opportunity to attend some over the weekend. The Mustard Pot in Chapel Allerton are hosting a display on the 4th which is a short bus journey away, along with Moortown Rugby club hosting one the same evening at 6.30pm with a hog roast, live music and pop up bars!
